Im Band-Blog schreibt Adam „Ad Rock“ Horovitz: „as you can imagine, shit is just fkd up right now. but i wanna say thank you to all our friends and family (which are kinda one in the same) for all the love and support. i’m glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him. thank you.“

Vor wenigen Minuten schrieb Michael „Mike D“ Diamond per Facebook zu einem Foto der Anzeigetafel des New Yorker Madison Square Garden, auf der man Yauch gedenkt: „I know, we should have tweeted and instagrammed every sad, happy and inspired thought, smile or tear by now. But honestly the last few days have just been a blur of deep emotions for our closest friend, band mate and really brother. I miss Adam so much. He really served as a great example for myself and so many of what determination, faith, focus, and humility coupled with a sense of humor can accomplish. The world is in need of many more like him. We love you Adam. BTW this photo sent to me by a friend, (thanks Saslow) is just one awesome example of how NYC is such a unique place that amidst it’s huge size and frenetic pace it really opens up it’s heart in so many ways and on on so many levels in times like these. And though it makes me cry sometimes, it has been really amazing and moving to see.“

Jan Delay, der mit seiner Band Absolute Beginner das „Check Your Head“-Cover der Beastie Boys nachstellte und die Band auf ihrer „Hello Nasty“-Tour supportete, äußerte sich wie folgt: „r. i.p. mca!! r.i.p. beastie boys!! die für mich und meine entwicklung wohl wichtigste band aller zeiten!! “

Eminem äußerte sich gegenüber MTV News wie folgt: „Adam Yauch brought a lot of positivity into the world and I think it’s obvious to anyone how big of an influence the Beastie Boys were on me and so many others. They are trailblazers and pioneers and Adam will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, Mike D., and Ad-Rock.“

Nas, der von der Zusammenarbeit mit den Beastie Boys an dem Track „Too Many Rappers“ noch immer begeistert ist, fand folgende Worte: „One of my greatest moments in music was when I worked with the Beastie Boys. … Now today I’m hearing our brother is gone. I prayed this would not happen. MCA was so cool, man. We had great talks about what it was like for them in the beginning, getting into the rap game. I’ll never forget that experience for the rest of my life. MCA is a true legend who influenced me. God bless his soul and his loved ones.“

„Adam made amazing artwork until the very end and he was a genuinely sweet guy. He will be sorely missed“, meldete sich Jack Black zu Wort, der einen Cameo-Auftritt in Yauchs „Fight For Your Right Revisited“-Kurzfilm hatte.

Tom Morello via Twitter: „Rip dear Adam Yauch. Words can’t express the sadness and loss. Ur humor, talent & gentle soul are just irreplaceable. Be at peace brother.“

Red Hot Chili Peppers-Bassist Flea: „Prayers and all the love I could ever muster for Adam Yauch. What a beautiful man. God bless his beautiful soul. A class act all the way.“

Good Charlottes Benji Madden twitterte: „The Beastie Boys are one of the reasons I do music & MCA was the captain.“

Weezer: „We are so sorry to hear about the loss of the Beastie Boys‘ Adam Yauch (MCA) a true legend & inspirational to everyone in weezers generation.“

Am Freitagabend, wenige Stunden nachdem Coldplay von Yauchs Tod gehört hatte, zollten sie Adam Yauch im Rahmen ihres Auftritts beim Hollywood Bowl mit einem Cover von „Fight For Your Right“ Tribut. „So we’re sending all our love to the Beastie Boys“ beendete Chris Martin das gesungene Cover.
