Happy new year everyone.

We're glad to announce that three new sophisticated works are available for preorder now.

The first one is the new album called MUSIQUE DE NUIT of LES FRAGMENTS DE LA NUIT. It features their first unreleased recordings garnished with several brand new written pieces. Most of you already should know them because of the first two releases via denovali – if you didn't recognize them yet and if you like Arvo Pärt, Steve Reich, Philipp Glass or Yann Tiersen and Olafur Arnalds you should risk an ear or two. It's available on vinyl, cd and digitally via the denovali mp3 shop.

The two further ones are new releases of PETRELS. We're releasing his stunning debut album HAELIGEWIELLE (previously released as a very limited cd version) now on vinyl and cd (with a brand new packaging). With HAELIGEWIELLE he just made it to several top of 2011 lists (#6 at Fluid Radio; #7 out of 100 at The Silent Ballet and the song ''Concrete'' at #5 in The Silent Ballet Top Songs of 2011 list). Fans of Tim Hecker or Fennesz should love Petrels.

In line with the album release we're offering a brand new 10'' called ALL THINGS IN COMMON featuring 2 brand new tracks. You can download this one FOR FREE at the denovali mp3 shop. The 10'' is limited to 300 copies.

LES FRAGMENTS DE LA NUIT – MUSIQUE DE NUIT Cd | LP | MP3



Les Fragments de la Nuit is a blossoming band created in 2005 by Ombeline Chardes (violin) and Michel Villar (piano), score composers for film. In order to play their pieces on stage, they decided to set up a quintet made up of three violins, a cello and a piano.Their first two albums released in 2008 (Musique Du Crépuscule) and 2010 (Demain C'etait Hier), has been greeted with great fervor, and fascinated audiences in festivals such as the prestigious Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig (DE), Summer Darkness in Utrecht (NL) or Denovali Swingfest in Essen (DE). With their music, which ranges from tragic to epic and atmospheric, Les Fragments de la Nuit crossed musical borders.

The French ensemble have kept faithful to their trademark style, in which pulsing piano chords set the pace for the string-work woven by the cellist and the three violinists, haunted by female choirs that surface on occasion. MUSIQUE DE NUIT features newly recorded tracks from the early days as well as brand new pieces. Variety is testimony to the band's ability to take Contemporary Classical music beyond its typical standards, by adding to this genre other stylistic references, some common to Post-Rock, Pop or even Metal, and thus bringing together elements that recall the works of composers like STEVE REICH, PHILIPP GLASS or ARVO PÄRT with those of formations such as GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR, BALANESCU QUARTET or even the sinister cult-band MAGMA.

In Fall 2011 Les Fragments De La Nuit did parts of the trailer music for the movie WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN (feat. TILDA SWINTON).

You already know that we're big fans of the FIELD ROTATION work – therefore we've decided to offer 2 further releases which were previously just available as limited cd editions on vinyl again. In detail: ''And Tomorrow I Will Sleep'' on LP and ''Why Things Are Different'' as a 10''. Both are limited to only 300 copies (100x on ultraclear and 200x on black). We've also repressed another 200 copies of the MOUNT FUJI DOOMJAZZ CORPORATION – Doomjazz Future Corpses 3x10'' monster. They're available on ultraclear w/ grey and white splatter. The new album of the THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE alter ego called EGOR will be out on March 23th. It contains the recordings of the live performance at DOM Theater Moscow.

Just to avoid any disappointment: The JENIFEREVER - Choose A Bright Morning 2xLP is almost gone. We don't know if and when it will be repressed. So if you've planned to buy it you shouldn't wait to long.

In March we will announce 2 or 3 new artists that will join the Denovali family later in 2012. More details will be available as soon as possible.

Hello everyone.

Time for an interesting massive update. Today we're starting the preorder for three new unique and sophisticated releases:

THE EYE OF TIME - s/t 2xCd | 3xLP
After years of songwriting and extensive work on the layout we're finally able to present you the EYE OF TIME s/t debut album. It's a trilogy with 20 tracks on 3 LPs and 2 Cds. Both formats include a 30 page booklet with one track fitting to each song. All tracks on the record are telling you a specific story dealing with Marc's life - every picture in the booklet gives you a little hint concerning his view to the world. The stories behind the tracks are dealing with problems of our today's society just as with his personal fights. He doesn't present his art with pathos - it's a clear, minimal mixture of samples, cello elements written and performed by himself, electronic programming. The 3xLP is limited to 500 copies and due to the extreme costs we're not sure if we're able to repress it.

POVAROVO - TCHERNOVIK Cd | 2xLP
We're very proud to present you the first album of this very talented dark jazz band from Russia. Influenced by acts like Bohren & der Club Of Gore and The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble the anonymous russian group Povarovo mixed ideas of existing darker jazz acts with neoclassical elements and the melancholia of traditional russian music.

PAN+ME - PAAL Cd | LP
And another debut - this time the solo debut album of Christophe from the DALE COOPER QUARTET. On PAAL Christophe Mevel continues the intelligent song writing of the Dale Cooper Quartet with a different approach - the arrangements are not jazz-orientated like those he sets up with the other Dale musicians on the two classics 'Parole de Navarre' and 'Metamanoir'. But although the solo work is rather piano- and electronic-driven and contains field recordings, choir sounds and string elements, the experimental and detail orientated method of operation stays the same.

Field Rotation was founded 2008 by the electronic music composer and producer Christoph Berg in Kiel, Northern Germany. Experimenting with electronic and classical elements this project combines floating soundscapes with electroacoustic colours to create minimalistic soundtracks renouncing of visualisation but interacting with the listeners emotions and feelings. As a violinist and pianist Christoph combines the synthetic sound engineering with natural sounds to communicate his short acoustic tales and impressions.

Thanks a lot for the great feedback concerning the denovali debut releases of THE EYE OF TIME and PAN & ME. It's nice to see that so many people are taking the time to always check out the new artists on the label.

All preorders of both records are shipped now. You should have your copies in the next days. The albums are also in stores since Friday February 24th. The colored THE EYE OF TIME 3xLP is down to 80 copies. You still can purchase the mp3 of the albums for a reasonable price via www.denovali.com/mp3shop

SALE: The band KODIAK decided to stop making music. We therefore offer the whole program for a very cheap price for 14 days. We won't repress any of these records - so it's first come first serve.

Due to personal reasons PETRELS sadly needed to cancel the two german gigs. But he will be back on tour in continental europe with THE SAMUEL JACKSON 5 in April 2012. Speaking about live gigs: AUN and THISQUIETARMY also will do a longer tour around the Roadburn Festival. We'll post the complete schedule of both tours in the next newsletter.

The BERSARIN QUARTETT played a very nice and interesting concert in Moscow last week. Thanks again to Egor for setting it up. We've just received the recordings of the new album and they're simply stunning. They will do a little tour in Germany and Poland in april to present the new tunes - together with SANKT OTTEN. More news soonish.
